Mission Statement

Theatre West Summer Repertory enhances the region with quality theatrical experiences for participants and audiences, using to the utmost, the resources of the regional citizens.

Mission

Theatre West Summer Repertory (TWSR) provides semi-professional theatre productions to the residents of Western Nebraska and the surrounding region while affording performance opportunities and employment for professional, regional, and collegiate artists, technicians, and theatre management personnel.

History

Theatre West Summer Repertory was formed in 1990 as a Not-For-Profit organization consisting of summer theatre productions and Theatre Opportunity For Youth (TOFY). It operates as a Semi-Professional Theatre Company.

TWSR is housed at Western Nebraska Community College (1601 East 27th Street) in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. It is directed by a Managing Director and Board, as well as a Community Advisory Board. It is generously supported by WNCC President, Dr. Todd Holcolm and WNCC. Our program is also supported by the Nebraska Arts Council, Fliesbach Family Foundation, Quivey-Bay State Foundation, Oregon Trail Community Foundation, Charles Yount Foundation, Regional West Medical Center, Travis and Sue Hiner Foundation, various regional foundations, and supporting business and individual patrons.

Theatre West utilizes Equity actors, skilled collegiate and early professional personnel for its needs each summer. Area collegiate auditions and interviews are held to fill 20- 25 positions. On-line applications are accepted for Company Members. Company housing is furnished by WNCC. Because of the unique artistic mixture, community actors learn alongside professional actors and practice their talents under the guidance of professional directors. TWSR is a teaching organization providing hands-on experience for young theatre students.
