ONLY TWO 2019 SEASON PRODUCTIONS REMAIN!
“THE MUSIC MAN”
July 18, 19, 20,25, 26, 27 @ 7:30 and July 20 @ 2:00
This classic musical is by turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic and touching. The Music Man is family entertainment at its best. Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation.
The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

“FOREVER PLAID” / CLOSED JUNE 22nd
One of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory, this deliciously fun revue was chock-full of classic barbershop quartet harmonies and pitch-perfect melodies!
Singing in close harmony, squabbling boyishly over the smallest intonations and executing their charmingly outlandish choreography with overzealous precision, the “Plaids” were a smash hit, with a program of beloved songs and delightful patter that kept audiences rolling in the aisles when they were not humming along to some of the great nostalgic pop hits of the 1950s.
“TO THE MOON, WITH LOVE” / Panhandle Library Tour / CLOSED!
Theatre West wrote and presented an original production performed by high school youth for 17 Nebraska Panhandle Libraries and additional venues. Kids across the region enjoyed a touring musical written by Theatre West’s Lauren Newell. Based on the national summer reading program theme, “TO THE MOON AND BACK” celebrated the 50th anniversary of the walk on the moon. This tour took place in mid-June throughout the Nebraska panhandle libraries.

July 5, 6 @ 7:30 and July 6 @ 2:00 / CLOSED JULY 6TH!
Theatre West presents the Oscar-winning DreamWorks theatre production. Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears.
“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek….” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek.
